Tighten how work moves through the team

I watch how work comes in, and when it actually reaches production. A new tool rarely fixes that.

What I keep walking into

  • Review takes longer than writing the code, and everyone can feel it.
  • What was important on Monday is something else again by Friday.
  • The retro names the same points. Afterwards, nothing really changes.

What is clearer afterwards

  • You can see where it sits: design, build, or release.
  • A few changes for the team you have now, not the one you might have in two years.
  • Numbers leadership can read, without having to sit in standup.

The calls you can then make

  • Which meetings or approvals you can drop.
  • What is worth automating, and where a bit of practice is enough.
  • How you protect time to build, and still stay reachable when something breaks.
